Winter’s icy fingers

Winter's icy fingers

A slight thaw seems to be hinting that winter is finally losing its grip of the UK .  We’re all hoping this is finally the end of winter.  Winter has its own beauty but personally I’ve had enough now and I want to see a blue sky and  insects.

    Must be a machinist . . . I only count four . . . maybe three and a half.

That did occur to me too. I think it was probably frostbite that got the other one.

Very nice closeup shot. “Winter’s icy fingers…” are definitely beautiful, but only viewed from a distance. I spent 17 years shoveling snow and cutting four cords of wood each summer for the winter’s stove burning in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, so I know all too well how “old” Winter can get. I moved to Maui 10 years ago and it’s safe to say I don’t miss the White Stuff!

That sounds very attractive right now. It has been a very long, cold and grey winter. This follows the wettest summer and autumn on record, so we’ve all had enough and are desperate for it to end and the sun to come out.

I keep my fingers crossed that spring arrives for you!

aww, who can blame you for desiring the soft caress of a mild wind on your skin, allowing you longer excursions upon the land of your home.

The pleasures of gardens, butterflies, birds and blooms await…and your heart will smile also.

A long hard winter is enough to make anyone want to growl like long-hibernating bears, eager to explore for honey, fresh air, and green walks.

May that day arrive for you soon ~

    🙂

No blue sky and very cold again for me. I search the forecasts for a glimmer of hope it will soon be over.
