Walking down a leafy lane

Walking down a leafy lane

As you can see, green is returning big time to the countryside around here.  Still plenty to come and many trees are quite late.  Whenever I’ve been overseas and fly home to the UK I am always amazed at how many shades of green there are to be seen from the air.  This lane is one of my favourites as it’s a dead-end for vehicles and becomes a bridle-path.  Hence it’s lovely and quiet.  The animals make the most of this and it’s possible to get good views of creatures such as buzzards and pheasants and lots more.  There is a pheasant shoot nearby but the smart ones move into the nearby fields and hedgerows.

It’s so refreshing that the gloomy, dark shades of winter have now turned to the vibrant colors of summer.

It is a great place to have a leisurely stroll and enjoy the peace. Sheep on one side, dairy cows on the other and birds in the hedgerows. Idyllic it is.
