Keeping watch

heron keeping watch

One of my favourite combinations for taking photographs, birds, water and reflections. Herons are very obliging for slow shutter speeds too.

You obviously haven’t met my local herons… 😀

Hi, thanks for liking a couple of posts on my blog. I’m delighted to see this post here on your blog, for recently on my blog I had a whole post about trying to photograph a grey heron near where I live. It took me months to get anywhere near my heron, so my respect to anyone who manages to get a photo of these magnificent birds. Your shot is great with the reflection adding to it. I’d love to get a photo of one in flight, it is such an awesome sight to see them fly.
    Many thanks again,
    Mark

Thanks. Agree with you about their flight. Something very prehistoric about herons.
