Oh I do like to be beside the seaside…

seaside

This is one of my favourite coastal spots in England, Lyme Regis on the south coast. Slightly old-fashioned and a great place to do seaside things; deckchair, bucket and spade at the ready.

Wonderful image…reminds me of Sea Fever By John Masefield…

I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face and a grey dawn breaking…

I love that poem. It captures the wild beauty of the sea and its attraction so well.

I love Lyme Regis too. John Fowles, ‘The French Lieutenant’s Wife’ was filmed there, it was the perfect location, so moody!

I love the Jurassic Coast. Maybe one of my fav place in England. Especially Swanage and Corfe Castle. Lyme Regis is about Jane Austen.

Love Lyme Regis – wind swept, meryl streep, wet and slippery place.

Yes, that’s the place. I love it any time of year but especially around now.
