Who pays the ferryman?

river ferry

This is a little ferry across the river mouth. You might think it would be boring going backwards and forwards all day but I can think of worse ways to spend the day.

Many people love to work outside. Better than to spend the day inside an office. I love the details in the photo, Annie

Yes it is. I’ve shared my love of wooden boats before and this is another lovely example.

What a nice scene. We have such a beautiful country.

What a lovely and peaceful picture. The colors are terrific. And my answer to your question would be that I would assume the people who ride will have to pay. I know I’d pay to ride back and forth for a while on a regular basis just to get to spend time in that beautiful scene.

I would love this job. So relaxed compared to what most people do!

While waiting to become more skilled at sailing, I would love to do a job like this. I know the weather would be bad sometimes and so on, but still! Maybe I can drive the Aquabus at some point.

I’m SO looking forward to getting to England! I’ll be happy to pay the ferryman! 🙂
My daughter and I are planning to take a two week vacation there after her graduation next summer! We both can hardly wait!

I hope it’s everything you wish for. I also hope you have the opportunity to get out and about and see the ‘real England’ as well as the tourist sites. You’ll be sure of a warm welcome if you do. Happy to answer any queries you might have about the trip.

oh yes! we’re all about avoiding any and all tourist areas. My daughter traveled the entire world for 10months in 2011 and has told me the only way to see a country is staying and eating where the locals do. So that’s the plan! 🙂

I wouldn’t rule out seeing the tourist sites, it’s just nice to meet real people and spend some time getting to see more of the country than London. I’m sure you’ll have a great time.

You are right. There are worse ways to spend the day. 😉
