A bird with something to shout about. Gulls are not everyone’s favourite but you can’t deny they are characters. As ever, this one was demanding to be fed.

I absolutely ADORE this photo! I, too, love photographing gulls and all the sea birds. They always make good subjects, and this guy is wonderful! When they shout like that I always think of “Finding Nemo” and the gulls all screaming, “Mine! Mine! Mine!” 🙂

Looks a bit like he’s holding a tune!

I felt a little sorry for him as he had a deformed foot but he seemed to be doing okay and his voice was working well.

When we went to the coast last year … at Broadstairs we were inundated with Gulls that wanted feeding… They seem to be getting quite tame and coming closer to people now.. Mind you they scare the living daylights out of you when they decide to swoop down on you 😀

great photo…you are right, they aren’t many peoples favorite bird…I lived lakeside for over 20 years and found as long as we didn’t feed them they were as well behaved as any bird…it was when someone came along and fed them, then there were tons of them flying around squawking and plopping excrement everywhere. 😦 in that situation they can be very brave…coming very close.

Yes, I’d agree with that. Left alone they’re fine but provide easy pickings and you’ve got problems.
