Little pony

miniature shetland pony r

I thought this little thing cut quite a sad figure. It was on the only bit of dry ground left around here and seemed so tiny and vulnerable. I have dogs bigger than this miniature Shetland pony. It is being looked after, so it is quite safe from the floods, though maybe a little wet.

Oooohhh, poor little thing. And the rains are lashing your small island. I hope he is safe.

Thanks. He’s well looked after. He’s one of the more fortunate ones who is dry and safe.

And your place is safe and dry too?

Yes, thank you. We have been flooded in the past but so far we are doing okay. The sandbags and pump are ready though. It is very sad how many have been affected by the prolonged rain. It just goes on and on. No real cold weather at all this year, just lots of rain and wind.

And more to come 😦 but good that you are prepared.

Yes. I’m a little nervous about Friday, as we are right in the centre of what’s coming. I can only prepare and keep everything crossed.

Hope you’re weathering today’s storm alright. Stay safe and warm!

Thank you. Yes, the worst seems to have passed and all’s well. A big relief as I was expecting a battering today. I may even venture out before it gets dark. A day without a walk in the fresh air (even wet fresh air) is a sad day for me.

Oh, gosh, you sound like me. I MUST walk daily or my mind soon starts to unravel!

    Awwww…poor little guy!

He was then but he’s quite happy now. A few days of brighter, drier weather have more or less restored things to normal around here, except the ground is still pretty waterlogged.
